In accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes, the Mineral County Public Guardianship Program obtains and implements court-appointed guardianship for individuals over the age of 18 who are profoundly mentally incapacitated, unable to care for themselves, and currently at high risk due to abuse, exploitation or extreme self-neglect.
Because establishing a guardianship may remove considerable rights from an individual, it should only be considered after alternatives to guardianship have proven ineffective or are unavailable.
